CalWORKs Emergency Payment Program

Purpose

The CalWORKs Emergency Payment Program provides emergency payments for services and advocacy to support CalWORKS participants in the continuation of their employment and educational goals.

Services

The program provides advocacy, referrals, and guidance for participants who are dealing with merchants, mechanics, service providers, landlords, etc. to negotiate purchases, contracts and service agreements. Participants are also given information about food banks, rental assistance programs, energy assistance programs, or legal and consumer advocacy services, among others. Lastly, the project supplies emergency supportive service payments as authorized by CalWORKs staff.

Hours Of Operation

Monday - Friday, 10am - 12pm and 1pm - 5:00pm
