EMERGENCY HOUSING ASSISTANCE PROGRAM GUIDELINES
The City of Watsonville is partnering with the Community Action Board of Santa Cruz County, Inc. (CAB) to market and administer the Emergency Housing Assistance Program (EHAP). This program is designed to assist Watsonville low and moderate income renters affected by the COVID-19 economic crisis with a grant of up to $1,500.
Grant funds may be used to assist with payment of rent, incurred after March 15, 2020. The emergency housing assistance will be paid directly to the landlord on behalf of the individual or family.
These funds may also be utilized for essential workers that need to self-isolate in a hotel, due to exposure to COVID-19 in the course of fulfilling their essential duties. If you have been affected by COVID-19 and need to self isolate, we can assist you. Please contact CAB at the number below for a referral to this program.
The CARES Act requires that we prevent the duplication of benefits, which means grant funds may not be used to pay costs if another source of financial assistance is available to pay that cost.
